WHAT WE OFFER AT ORO VERDE

World Class Birdwatching — We offer standard morning and afternoon guided birding tours lasting from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (includes a light breakfast), and also from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ($30 per person).

We specialize in making arrangements for dedicated international birders in association with our other area nature reserves, such as Rancho La Merced, which is located just below us on the same steep mountain, which stretches down to the sea. In combination, Oro Verde and Rancho La Merced provide what some believe to be the most abundant, widest range of birding on the entire Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. A recent Christmas Bird Count, which encompassed other area nature reserves including Hacienda Barú, located just north of Dominical, won top national honors in a country that is home to more than 850 bird species!

At Oro Verde, birding is our business!

Exploring the Primary Forest — Enjoy a 5-hour guided hike through our primary rainforest (includes a Costa Rican lunch), beginning at 7:00 a.m. ($35 per person).

Horseback Tours — Climb into the saddle for a guided horseback ride either through the deep green forest or to the Morete River waterfalls (both approximately 3 hours and include a light snack), beginning at 7:00 a.m. and also 3:00 p.m. ($35 per person).

Hiking Tours — Experience a fascinating two-hour guided nature trek through Oro Verde, beginning at 7:00 a.m. and also at 3:00 p.m. ($15 per person).

The Duarte house is your house, and Oro Verde's rainforest is your rainforest. We look forward to seeing you soon!
